Sponsorship Opportunity For a pdf version of the Sponsorship Opportunity please click here Melbourne will be hosting the 150 Years Conference, celebrating the 150th Anniversary of the National Herbarium of Victoria and Plant Systematics in Australia. Founded in January 1853 with the appointment of Ferdinand Mueller as Government Botanist, the National Herbarium of Victoria is the oldest herbarium in Australia and one of the oldest scientific institutions in Victoria. It has played a leading role in the advancement of knowledge of the Australian flora since its foundation. The Conference will bring together two of Australia’s premier systematic societies: the Australian Systematic Botany Society and the Australasian Mycological Society. Associated with the Conference are two significant workshops: The 7th Australasian Bryophyte Workshop and the Orchid Conservation Forum II. These events will bring together scientists and others involved with research on the systematics and conservation of plants and fungi from around Australia and throughout the world. The Conference will provide an important platform for reporting advances made in understanding plant and fungal systematics and conservation in a wide variety of environments and applications. The event is to be held at the University of Melbourne and will include prominent international and national speakers. Enclosed is a brochure describing the Conference including a list of some of these speakers.
