Proceedings

A refereed proceedings will be published after the conference in the Electronic Supplement of the ANZIAM Journal (http://anziamj.austms.org.au/). Papers will be limited to 10 pages for contributed and workshop papers and about 20 pages for invited conference papers. Papers must be prepared in LaTeX according to the specifications available at
http://anziamj.austms.org.au/prepare.html

Intending contributors must submit an abstract of their paper by May 31, 2004. Abstracts are to be submitted electronically to ctac-2004@unimelb.edu.au using the LaTeX template that may be downloaded by clicking on the link abstract.tex. Persons who are not familiar with LaTeX will find it useful to also download the file abstract.pdf. A Submission Form must accompany all abstracts. For a Click here for a PDF version of the Submission Form. For an RTF version, click here. Please indicate on the submission form if your are submitting a poster presentation. Unless stated otherwise, an oral presentation will be assumed.

The abstract will be considered by the Scientific Committee for acceptance of the paper for presentation at the conference, and the contributor notified of the outcome within 14 days of submission.

Contributors are asked to provide an electronic "preprint" of their paper prior to the conference. This will be made available online to other delegates. This should be submitted as a pdf and should be emailed to conference management at ctac-2004@unimelb.edu.au

After the conference authors who want their paper considered for publication in the proceedings will have 4 weeks to make any changes to their paper and, if necessary, put it into the required form. Acceptance of papers for inclusion in the proceedings will be then determined by peer review. Papers presented at workshops are eligible to be considered for publication in the conference proceedings provided the presenters are registered for the conference in addition to the workshops.

Note that papers that are not in the correct format using the LaTeX template available from the address given above will not be considered for publication. However, a service may be provided (at the authors cost) to assist authors who are not familiar with LaTeX. Prospective authors who might avail themselves of this service should contact the organisers by email: ctac-2004@unimelb.edu.au

Keynote Speakers

The conference program will include keynote addresses from the following Invited Speakers:

  • Prof. Gary Leal, University of California at Santa Barbara (Computational Studies in Materials Research)
  • Prof. Mark Cross, University of Greenwich (Perspective on the current status of CFD)
  • Prof. Kevin Burrage, The University of Queensland (Models for Genetic Regulation and their Simulation)
  • Dr Robert Anderssen, CSIRO (Inverse Problems)
  • Prof. Chaoqun Liu, University of Texas at Arlington (High Performance Computation for DNS/LES)
  • Prof. Denis Evans, Australian National University (The Fluctuation Theorem: Simulation, Theory and Experiment)

    Workshops

Immediately following the three days (27-29 September) of invited and contributed presentations there will be two days of workshops (September 30 - October 1).

The topics for the CTAC 2004 workshops and contact information for their respective conveners are:

  • Complex Fluids - Malcolm Davidson m.davidson@unimelb.edu.au

  • Dispersed multiphase flows - Jiyuan Tu jiyuan.tu@rmit.edu.au

  • High performance computing - Bill Appelbe bill@cs.rmit.edu.au

  • Solidification and Melting - Mohammed El Ganaoui, Graham de Vahl Davis, Eddie Leonardi ganaoui@unilim.fr

The Australian Mathematical Sciences Institute (AMSI) have generously agreed to sponsor the four workshops, which will now be held at the AMSI premises in Carlton. Because of this sponsorship, the workshops are now free to all delegates to the conference and to all students, with a small charge for non-students attending the workshops but not the conference.

In addition, AMSI have agreed to provide college-type accommodation for a limited number of students from AMSI-associated institutions for one or two nights to attend the workshops. Eligible students should apply using the application form. A list of AMSI-associated institutions can be found at: www.amsi.org.au/member.html
