Banking Hours and Currency

There is a National Australia Bank and a Commonwealth Bank located on The University of Melbourne's campus. Both banks have 24 hours Auto Teller Machine access and are open Monday to Thursday 9.30am to 4pm and 9.30am to 5pm on Fridays.

Australian Dollars (AUD). Is used in the city and resort areas, major credit cards such as Mastercard, Visa Card, Bankcard, American Express and Diners Club can be used for a wide range of goods and services. Foreign currency exchange is available on arrival at the Tullamarine Airport.

Electricity

The electrical current in Australia is 240/250 volts, AC 50HZ. A 3pin power outlet is standard and you may require an adaptor socket. Universal outlets for 240v or 110v shavers/hairdryers are found in most hotels.
