THE MELBOURNE FORENSIC PSYCHOLOGY PROGRAM

 

CONTEMPORARY ISSUES IN FORENSIC ASSESSMENT

The University of Melbourne Forensic Psychology program will be running a one-day workshop on Contemporary Issues in Forensic Assessment in February 2001. The course will be conducted by Professor Norman Poythress, a world authority on the psychological assessment of offenders and the author of a key text in the area. He is currently a member of the Department of Mental Health Law and Policy at the University of South Florida. Areas covered include the assessment of competence, psychopathy, assessment and introduction to key measures.

The course will run on Saturday, 24 February. Limited spaces are available to suitably qualified professionals. Cost is AUD$120.

Coinciding with the Workshop is The 15th Annual Conference of the Australian and New Zealand Society of Criminology (21-23 February) at which Professor Bill Marshall from Queens University, Canada, will be giving a key note address on the effectiveness of treatment with sex offenders.
