ABOUT CONASTA
54 - Science
Education Unplugged
CONASTA 54 is
the 54th annual national conference of the Australian Science
Teachers' Association. It brings together committed science
educators from across Australia and overseas including senior
decision makers and professionally active science educators
from the primary, secondary and tertiary levels.
The theme for
CONASTA 54 is Science Education Unplugged.
The conference
will provide opportunities for delegates to 'unplug' Science
Education by reflecting on three separate strands - science,
science education, and the teaching and learning of science.
The conference
is being held at The University of Melbourne, from 4 July 2005
to 7 July 2005. It is expected to attract between 300 and 400
delegates. CONASTA 54 will include keynote addresses featuring
international and national experts in science, science education
and teaching and learning science. It will feature many seminars,
workshops, excursions to sites of scientific interest, a wide
range of trade exhibits and social functions that take advantage
of the magnificent atmosphere of the City of Melbourne and its
surroundings.
