THE PAPER TEMPLATE (REPLACE WITH YOUR TITLE)

ABSTRACT: This template paper provides instructions on the standard format for SST-2002 six-page submissions and proceedings. The abstract for the paper should be indented by 5mm from each margin. It should be concise but at the same time useful. The abstract for the paper should be a single paragraph, no more than 200 words in length. Replace the text in this paragraph with your abstract, retaining the word "ABSTRACT:" at the start.
ANONYMOUS REVIEW
If you wish your submission to be reviewed "blind", i.e. without the reviewers
knowing your identity, leave the author and affiliation lines between the title
and the abstract blank. After the review has been completed, you will have the
opportunity to fill in these details before you submit the final version of
your paper.
FONT (MAIN SECTION HEADINGS ARE IN CAPITALS)
All text, headings, captions, etc should be Helvetica. If you don't have Helvetica, then use Arial or a similar proportionally-spaced sans-serif font. You may use non-standard fonts for phonetic symbols or other special purposes. If you use non-standard fonts, then be sure to save the file with the "fonts embedded" option enabled so that the document will print out correctly. If you wish to emphasize words then use italic or underline sparingly.
Font size (Sub-section headers are in lower case)
The font size is 10 point for all text, headings, captions, etc except for the title of the paper, which uses 12 point bold capitals. Main section headings use 10 point capitals (not bold).
PARAGRAPH FORMAT
This is a normal text paragraph. Normal text paragraphs are left and right justified. If you use two spaces between sentences, your text will be slightly easier to read and will appear more attractive. There is no need to insert blank lines between paragraphs, headers, etc. The template will take care of vertical spacing automatically provided that you use the paragraph styles correctly. The spacing between paragraphs is 10 point.
PAGE FORMAT
Page size and margins
The page size is A4 (297 x 210 mm or 8.27 x 11.69 inches). Margins are 25 mm or 1 inch at top, left, and right of the page. The margin at the bottom is 30 mm or 1.2 inches. The total length of your paper must not exceed 6 pages formatted according to these instructions.
Header and footer
The header and footer formats should not be altered in any way. Enter the first author's surname into the header. If there is only one author, then delete "et al." Enter a short running heading of 5 words or less into the header. The whole of the header must not take up more than one line. Do not alter the page numbering in the footer. The numbers and review method will be set by the conference staff when the proceedings are assembled.
FILE FORMATS AND QUESTIONS
Acceptable file formats include MS Word documents and Rich Text Format (RTF). Other formats will only be accepted with the prior agreement of the proceedings editor. Each file will be converted to a secure pdf format for the conference proceedings after the insertion of page numbers by the proceedings editor.
Questions regarding file formats and other formatting issues should be sent by email to the proceedings editor, Peter Blamey (p.blamey@unimelb.edu.au).
TABLES AND FIGURES
Table 1. Table captions should appear above the table. They should be justified and indented equally from each margin by at least 1 cm.
| Col 1 | Col 2 | Col 3 | Col 4 | Col 5 |
| Row 1 | 1 | 4 | 7 | 10 |
| Row 2 | 2 | 5 | 8 | 11 |
| Row 3 | 3 | 6 | 9 | 12 |
Figure 1. The figure caption should be placed below the figure. It should be justified and indented by at least 1 cm from each margin. Figures may be in colour, but the unnecessary use of colour is not recommended.
Table and figure placement
The overall layout of your paper is your responsibility, not the responsibility of the editors. Figures and tables should be placed close to the relevant section of text, not at the end of the document.
ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS
Acknowledgements (if any) should be placed at the end of the text, before the references. Please acknowledge the major source(s) of funding, relevant ethics committees, and any individuals or organisations that have contributed to the research described in your paper. Do not acknowledge anonymous reviewers.
REFERENCES
References should be listed in alphabetical order, and referred to by name of author and year of publication in the text. References should include all relevant information in full as in the following examples. Do not abbreviate names of journals. If the journal is an electronic journal or electronic document available on the web, you are encouraged to insert a direct link to the reference.
Author1, A. & Author2, M. (Year of publication) Title in italics, Journal name in full Volume, first-last page numbers.
